Fundraising

Over the last few years, employees of NEW WAVE have been involved in fundraising and have helped raise over £3000 by organising Breakthro Llanelli Support’s “3 Peak” walks.

In order to continue to raise funds for worthy recipients, we have set up NEW WAVE Community Fund. NWCF’s aims are:

To actively raise funds for the benefit of, and to distribute to, nominated charities and/or organisations, with the object of improving their services and quality of life of beneficiaries.

For April 2009 to March 2010 we have decided to raise funds for:

• Special Care Baby Unit SCBU, Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest (for more info on SCBU
• Llanelli Centre for the Deaf
• Llys Caradog Children's Centre, Residential respite care for children with learning disabilities.

In the event that funds raised exceed expectation, we may be able to offer one off grants of £50 which must be spent furthering NWCF’s aims.

Our partners and clients include:

Turning Point

The ‘Carmarthenshire Life Skills Project’, based in the area around Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford, will run drop-in sessions, group work programmes and individual support. The service provides:

• Help for people with a history of alcohol misuse to reduce their drinking.
• Support to enable people with alcohol problems to develop life skills. Support ranges from anger management to
• Information and advice to enable people to move into education, training or employment, for instance by helping with job searching, CV writing, interview and presentation skills.

Communities First Felinfoel

Felinfoel Communities First Partnership has been set up to bring together people who live in Felinfoel and organisations and agencies that provide services in the community. The aim of this partnership is to drive forward changes in Felinfoel, by supporting the community to identify and address the needs of those who live in the area.

We have also been working in partnership with Genesis Sir Gâr and PATD to deliver courses.

Genesis Sir Gâr

Genesis Sir Gâr is part of the national Genesis Wales project that works alongside adults to help them explore long forgotten hopes and aspirations and provide guidance and support to help them achieve their hopes and a brighter future.

The aim of the project is to remove barriers that adults and in particular parents face when returning to work or training.

Professional & Technical Development LTD (PATD)

They are a professional training provider based in West Wales offering learning programmes and accredited qualifications in various disciplines including Administration, Engineering, IT, Management and more.

They provide ReAct Funding (Redundancy Training), Foundation Modern Apprenticeships (FMA), Modern Apprenticeships (MA) and Modern Skills Diploma (MSD) courses in many areas of industry and commerce.

Trac Programme Centres

Programme Centres are run on behalf of Jobcentre Plus by a range of providers from the public, private and voluntary sectors. They can provide you with help with job applications along with practical advice on looking for jobs.

Prime Cymru

Prime Cymru is an Initiative for Mature Enterprise established by HRH the Prince of Wales.  The Charity is dedicated to helping people over 50 in Wales to become economically active.  If you are in this age group and want to start your own business, develop a social enterprise, simply find a job or look at volunteering opportunities, they can help.

Breakthro Llanelli

Breakthro Llanelli is a charity that offers Saturday clubs for children and adults with learning disabilities and/or special educational needs.
